Whoa, the kind of people who can drag that out into a 8 minute plus video
Yours obviously wasnât short of charge last week!

Itâs a problem specific to the new Performance version which has a different battery than the Long Range. I think they will sort it out, but there a few unhappy new P owners kicking around at the moment.
AhâŚ
Stirling and back over the weekend, just over 500 miles for 260 kW,
We used a mixture of free Scotch and Manc leccy plus wallet destroying super fast Ionity on the way there and back at Gretna (68 kW in 35 mins), even so we paid about 1/3 less in total than if we had used our previous diesel X6.
To and from Gretna about 150 miles, completed with indicated 35 miles range remaining, came out about 3.2 km/kW which isnât bad for a 2.3T motor with 4 up and luggage cruising on the Mway.
Very enjoyable trip overall.
Thereâs just no excuses nowâŚ
Bar cost. Even then there are loads of options coming in the next year.
I donât know anyone who has regretted it or would go back.
(Massive tax hike incoming in 5âŚ4⌠)
Stupid article. Why buy nearly new if (for most people excluding layabout builders) work salary sacrifice schemes slap down the lease cost by about 40%? We do not lease as a rule but if I end up permanent where we are I will definitely try and ger a scheme put in place.
âThere is much more supply of used EV models that have come out in the last year or two than there was last yearâ
Who could have predicted such a thing?
There used to be about 7 BP Polar chargers in town, with the spaces on the road, created by the County Council. Said council got bored, and decided to transfer them to the City Council. City Council is âassessing its obligationsâ regarding these, so in the meantime they have decommissioned them all.
Not a problem, as the City Council set up 6 chargers at a leisure centre, which is actually very convenient for us. Until there is an earthing issue that takes every one of these out of action.
No problem, there is a rapid charger in town and two just out of town. Unfortunately two of these are currently broken and the other busy with a queue.
Iâve spent over an hour today trying to charge the car, and failing. You can probably imagine how delighted I am about this.
It was charging that stopped me buying one in the end. The only one that has a reliably useable charging network is Tesla and I none of them suit me. I liked the i-Pace but somebody i know ended up in a hotel on his first long journey and returned the car to his dealer.
My plug in hybrid does 35 miles on 6kWh and because I havenât done many long journeys in the last 12 months I last put petrol in it in September last years and charge at home. It takes 3 hours to charge on a 13 amp plug, which I decided to stick with since our solar cells are 3.25 kW.
So far a non-SUV plug in hybrid still looks the easiest to exploit green choice.
Yeah a plug-in hybrid doesnât work for me as I canât charge at home. This is the worst situation weâve been in re charging, but no journeys are planned so Iâll be able to sort it soon enough.
Would have loved one that does 35 miles. Only get 18, but better than nowt I suppose.
This is interesting.
Doesnât look plausible to me.
Only one of the PHEVs I was interested by was suitably efficient. Most were either very heavy, unaerodynamic or both.
The Panamera hybrid was 600kg heavier and needed twice as much leccy for the same range, and was so big I wouldnât have been to park it any of the places I go, for example.
Many of then are âSUVsâ which are shite by (my) definition so not open to consideration.
The i-Pace is an almost-but-not-really SUV and looks like they have never checked the aerodynamics of wheels but I love the styling.
i8 is lightish and aerodynamicâŚ
Got a BMW 225xe with only 18 mile battery range. Only has a 35l tank, so it doesnât really go very far. Has a Mini engine so it will probably blow up next week.
Still, I quite like it. It is nicer than my old Seat Leon ST Ecomotive.
