I have spent some time trying to think of a “Not Nice, nah Bonne” joke but can’t quite parse it. Anyway, I shall soon be near Narbonne :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Love Narbonne. If it wasn’t for Brexit, we would likely be living there or Bezier.

Or Crete.

Or Calabria.

They about £250 for the BYD one, I’ll make do with the single socket for £36 and a 4 way socket for a tenner :slightly_smiling_face:

It was in the boot loose but didn’t pay for it - And wouldn’t have

Yes I know it’s standard on the top model, us peasants have to buy our own
Did you buy the car new or was it a demonstrator?

A demo registered three months ago - The ODO readout was 82 miles was a showroom demo

When I set up the timer for off peak charging I couldn’t find a way to limit charge to 80%. I spoke to the dealership and was told that regularly charging to 100% is not a problem, in fact it is to be considered the norm.

thought only fully discharging batteries causes problems? my home battery has a discharge limit of 10% to protect it

All other manufacturers,as far as I know recommend only charging to 80%

Like everything, it depends. There’s very little wrong with charging to 100% if you are going on a trip and using the car a few hours or a day after charging.

If you charge to 100% then leave the car standing for days/weeks at time, that’s not so good for long term battery health.

If the car is sitting for long periods like that then 80% is a decent limit although best practise is to often charge the battery to different limits between about 40-80% so that the BMS is properly calibrated.

Currently very tempted by an ID Buzz Cargo, with something like this in the back:

Really like the look of them plus I can pick one up for £20k with low mileage, two front seats instead of one and a bench, reversing camera, heated seats etc.

BYD are saying that with their new blade battery it doesn’t matter which is why there’s no option for partial charging on timed charging.

:fire:

Our DT has been charged to 100% at least 50% of the time over the last 5 years / 40k miles. The battery is fine, maybe a small drop in range, certainly under 10%
Theres no way to limit the charge to a lower %.
It has only been fast charged once however, always connected to 7 or 11kw charger.

With the other 3 EVs that I have owned if you set the timer to charge to 100% they gave a warning to only charge to 80%.. The ID3 used to drive me mad and kept resetting itself to 80% max charge.
