The app is worth having because you put your car model in and the search ensures you aren’t rocking up to a charger site that is Tesla-only.

Well my dash cam for the BYD has just arrived.
There is a mounting point inside the pod above the mirror, it just pushes into the housing ad the wiring is in there ready to plug in. The card slot is in the dashboard.
Do other manufacturers provide this? It certainly beats threading cables under the head lining.

Guess it also means a more guaranteed way for BYD to ensure all the data goes back to the motherland

By looks of it they’ve done a cracking job of minimising the production costs.
Appreciate that it’ll probably never be seen again, but even so.
What would you expect for £35? 
OK, so you can all disregard the bollocks I posted above. After watching many videos on fitting the dash cam, including one showing how to install the
Camera in a UK Dolphin “Style” , I set about removing the plastic panels above the mirror, only to find that there was not only no wiring for the camera, but no mounting bracket/aperture for the camera to sit in.

The charger thing depends on your situation - is it simple or not? Do you have an obvious place given the location of your consumer unit and home/garage layout, or is there routing of cable to deal with? Space on the consumer unit? Planning restrictions?
Some companies are very keen to find issues and then say they can’t do it, or charge extra.
Getting a good local electrician company is what I did, and they didn’t complain about a lot of complicated routing of cable, and did it well. I don’t think it was the cheapest, but it’s money to a local company.

I’d also work out with your daughter her daily driving routine. It may be that she doesn’t need a 7.4kWh charger installing and a 10A granny charger will do the job perfectly well.

Drive is stoke to leicester 3 days a week and once a month to Kent
Plus usual running about, I have a good electrician so is there a sensible make of box to choose for charging an mg4 long range trophy (in orange yuk)
They have a granny charger in the garage but think they need a bigger one hence the question
Range on good day is 230 for the mg so overnight charging at home would be ideal for saving money
