I think you need to be an observer from outside the UK to get a feeling this has become the land of the gammons, empowered by the tabloids. (Apart from a few sanctuaries like this part of the interweb and its ‘subjects’.)
Shocking to see that this Netflix thingy gets more attention to create outrage upfront, instead of focusing on the numerous Conservative scandals or the underlying fundamental problems in the UK that really do hurt the general public.
E.g. a record of over 5 million on the NHS waiting list in Sep 2021, grown to over 7 million per Oct 2022? Nothing to see here.
Just whine about the monarchy instead, which is German anyway and what was that again with this Andrew type?

I’ve got a couple of brollies by the front door, but they hardly ever get used, and almost certainly have spiders living in them by dint of the fact that anything that doesn’t get moved often in this house is always chock full of spiders.
I wish I was humorously exaggerating - grabbed the dog’s winter coat the other day: whopper in it, grabbed a pair of boots I hadn’t worn for a week: whopper in it, grabbed my hi-viz I’d not used for a while: whopper in it; leave any bucket or largish smooth-sided container, and within hours: whopper in it… &c. &c. &c…
Damp old house, lots of undisturbed corners - if you had to design a Spider Farm, it’d be a lot like this…

If it’s any reassurance, a significant minority of Brits couldn’t give a flying-fuck about any aspect of the royal fambly, and most of them would rather the media just fucked-off and left them the fuck alone. The pair you mention: well if you want to be left alone, making documentaries about yourself is incredibly fucking stupid…
The one thing that makes me very fucking angry is that HRH The Sweaty Pedo isn’t banged-up…

Evidence suggests it’s more likely to be the land of the Russians that is fermenting the furore.
Social media accounts driving the hate are suspiciously small in number, have a wide influence, and are… decidedly dodgy.
And that is all being openly reported.
The press love it, though. And the country lap it up.

Yes, 70 percent of the volume of hate tweets come from 83 twitter accounts, they have had millions of views. Apparently the figures the other way aren’t far off these. It’s as if a business thrives off conflict and actively encourages these accounts. I suspect many are not Russian.
I think the whole concept of royalty is an utter nonsense. However, given that for the past 6 years we’ve really only had a one sided account of their lives courtesy of the Murdoch press, the Mail, Telegraph, Express etc I’m pleased for them that they’ve taken an opportunity to present their side of it without it coming through the lens of the usual media sources. ie the lickspittle stenographers that are obedient/subservient enough to maintain their precious access to the royal news teat. I’ve no interest in watching it and for their sakes I hope that having made this show they step away from all that shit but if it winds up the gammon pundits of the gutter press & media, I’m all for it. Like you I can’t believe the abuse they take where Andrew pretty much still gets a free ride.

The press are annoyed that Harrys had the cheek to criticise them and their paparazzi attacks on him and his mother, and blamed them for hounding him out, so as far as the press are concerned he’s got it coming.
The only bit I struggle with is Harry’s insistence that he deserves to be left alone and lead a private life, and then can’t stay out the press and signs a massive Netflix deal so he can broadcast his bleating ad nauseam. But unless reminded of them they don’t really cross my mind or live their rent free like the readers of the Fail.
