Yesterday I walked just over 21km during my shift most of which was collecting troliies (and not one or two at a time before any sarky comments) ![]()
Tomorrow is traditionally the single busiest day of the year for M&S Foods - can’t fucking wait.

Went across to my local Sainsburys late this afternoon. It was pretty busy. The stock had been fairly well picked over though. If you wanted a Xmas pudding then you’ve left it too late - they haven’t had any at all for days. The fizzy wine shelf had obviously been restocked with what they’ve got - lots of Prosecco and Crémant de Loire but precious little actual champagne (exception: plenty of Heidsieck in the aisle-end displays). There were significant gaps for much of the seasonal stuff (mince-pies, tubs of wrapped sweets, Xmas crackers etc etc).
I can think of half a dozen possible reasons for the continuing shortages. But I’ve no idea if any of them is correct.
I think people have been buying in much earlier this year - the sales for our shop have been much higher throughout the month.
Preston town centre hasn’t been the crush it used to be before covid. I’ve not had to queue to get into town so either people are buying everything online and/or they are buying less
Non-food wise probably a bit of both.
Amazing!
It would be really amazing if it was sent off to Rwanda.

Yesterday and today a few local folk have stopped by to leave a gift for the MiL.
She’s up to four bottles of Jameson so far ![]()
How many will she get? ![]()
Wow!
The depot has been mental. Trailer Tetris.
Mrs VB just back from her Fareshare shift. She says that stuff with end dates of 27th/28th/29th is starting to show up today as supermarkets decide they won’t be able to sell it today/tomorrow. Warehouse manager says he can find charity takers for most of it, although he might be having to drive a chilled van out with it on Monday himself
.
It’s same here - we now have 4 40 foot refrigerated containers for stock out the back of the shop and two trucks waiting to be unloaded ![]()
Fresh trousers please.
