Today I have mainly been V2.0

Yeah, why didn’t I think of that?

We had to replace so boards so we took the original boards from the bottom of the wardrobes and dropped them in place. New boards are in the bottom of the wardrobes, but will be covered up when the new built-in wardrobes go in next week.

We would have ended up with an utter dog’s breakfast if we mixed new and old boards as matching without staining (which we want to avoid) is next to impossible.

The floor of what will be the tiled ensuite bathroom will be pulled up and used to replace part of our dining room floor where some muppet has run a chop saw though the boards running into a bay window. All the boards on the ground and first floor are T&G and would be impossible to replace properly. That is next week’s fun.

Because a gentle troll was irresistible. :slightly_smiling_face:

sounds good , i get very upset when these nice electricians wreck my old floorboards as they are not easy to match always

I bought a board puller years ago. If some tradie produces anything other than a board puller, he gets ushered aside and I pull the board myself. It is easy enough unless there is a T&G floor. There is an art to that so I am getting a specialist Scotch timber jockey to do all of that work.

You will have gaps under all the doors…

Ah, but that leaves room for the underlay and carpets of course.

Meh! I won’t have dust filled carpets which smell like dog because of the dog. I can live with a gap or two.

I like what you did with the rubbish and empty beer can on the floor, have you got an agent?

what you want is a leather floor

Connie my daughter was saying the majority of her floor in halls were from quite or very close by, not sure if that is a trend.

Her twin, Sam chose Sheffield, but has just “fallen over” on a night out and needs an op on his right hand - to reset a bad break. Apparently it’s a local anaesthetic so no need for me to drive up next week…He’s the same kid who went to Nepal last year, got bitten by a random dog and had to have a post-bite course of (expensive) rabies injections and come home after 3 months of his 6 travelling.

Young men… FFS🙄

I presume you have an excess of (coloured) leather going cheap due to recent purchase of winter clown boots??

Taking my daughter out for a mooch in Kings Heath. Obviously we ended up in Polar Bear record shop and spent some money.

Went to the memorial service for a former colleague who recently passed away due to MND. Of course it was a sad occasion, but it was also one peppered with very funny stories and examples of his wicked sense of humour. Apparently, towards the end he would play dead to his carers, and eventually open his eyes with a glint and say, “Only joking!”.

Eggxactly.

Nephew - last year a chalet attendant, led a skiing party in which one was killed and one seriously injured (not his fault), frightened Mum with a pic of white water canoeing in the Himalayas in which only one arm was partially visible, now has an elbow dislocation after rugby club induction at Durham.

I’m sure I never got up to anything like that…
