Today I have mainly been V2.0

Over at daughters new place most of the day doing various jobs.

Last job was to set up her stereo :slightly_smiling_face:

Next job is to go pick up the Tannoys I’ve had refurbed for her.

My mum had those cabinets or something very similar in the 70’s/80’s had taller ladders and some shelves and was used as a room divider.

Yeah, Ladderax :slightly_smiling_face:

Looks a sweet little rig :+1:

Press the on switch, if it powers up then slap a sticker on it. Turn it off quick sharp before any faults can show.

I’d buy one if I could copy everyone’s tapes but that would be killing music

Assembling a 4x2 IKEA Kallax storage unit for the black shiny stuff.
I know everyone slags off IKEA but I think it’s genius, the way that it looks a bit flimsy and loose as you are assembling it until it is finished and aligns and tightens to make a solid block.
Just need to amalgamate two separate collections now and get them into alphabetical order.

Hoovering, sneezing, sweeping, coughing, dusting, spluttering, mopping and wheezing. We have plumbers, plasterers, electricians, painters and labourers all in the house atm. Massive renovations = much dust. All the kids are camping/sharing as their rooms are being worked on so they all have the hump, except our youngest who is revelling in the joys of being allowed to pull wallpaper down off the walls and stripped most of a landing herself after dinner.

Having built IKEA stuff for several years, I love the way that you see the evolution in the systems they have for connecting wood to wood solidly. I have always found it a pleasure to build for this reason alone!

Ask to see their method statement/risk assessments. Fuckers should have dust control measures in place - especially with you (their client!) not being 100%. Cunts.

They do. However, with 115 year old houses full of nasties like artex, anaglypta wallpaper, blown plaster and lathe walls and ceilings a certain amount of dust is inevitable. Bear in mind also that I was laughing at myself too. I’m amazed at how fast they can progress with all the efforts they’re making to be tidy.

The most annoying stuff is the insulation from the plasterboard we’re putting up on the top floor. It pills up like syrofoam ballls and is impossible to hoover up. I found myself carpet brushing like it was 1973 again…

Have you any idea how old the Artex is Ólan? Up to 2000 and there’s a fair chance it has asbestos in it, so I hope that they’re taking proper precautions when removing it.
