That would be the case at any speed.
Itâs witchcraft, I tell you.
Then of course there is this. Is it a boat or is it a plane.
tooth out finally, starving
Love me some Ekranoplan. The 1950s and 60s were a glorious era technologicallyâŚ
âYgor! Let us make a plane that canât fly and/or boat that is dangerously fast and fragile!â
âBut why, Wiktor?â
âBecause we can, idiot! Because we canâŚâ
#Sound of methanolic wodka being glugged in industrial amounts#
Although it probably cost the US more to work out what on earth it was than it cost the USSR to make it.
But all that glorious FREEDOM!
I like the Lippisch designs.

On a murky but dry Thursday last week we took a circular walk from Rilla Mill in East Cornwall, following a stretch of the lush Lynher valley along the edge of Bodmin moor.
View up to Caradon Hill from the Lynher Valley near Plushabridge last week.
Yesterday we returned to East Cornwall, this time to the beautiful village of Altarnun for another circuit taking in two lovely river valleys, those of the Inny and Penpont water.
Altarnun
The dog has been enjoying these walks & was very restrained yesterday while being accosted by 3 pretty feral farm dogs at one point. She also puts up with being lifted over multiple stiles. I can imagine many women with a 20 Kg dog would find these routes impossible (impassable?) because of the stiles where most often thereâs no provision for getting a dog through without a sometimes precarious lift with someone standing either side.
The lunch stop was taken next to a medieval bridge crtossing the Inny at Gimblett Mill.
Looking back West along the Inny valley
Crossing over into the valley of Penpoint water again looking West towards the moor in the distance.
Well earned paddle
Iâm really liking this area. Will have to venture back up onto Bodmin soon. Rough Tor & Brown Willy are a good walk.

Saving the Nation from slipping into a historical void

Finally finished (18 months late) reinstating the quirk bead to our internal arch and replacing the internal brace to original spec because our âone of thousandsâ Georgian terrace house is historically wrong without these minor internal details. Fuck you English Heritage, or whatever youâre calling yourselves today.
ÂŁ4K for an edge detail and an internal brace that will never be seen. Twats.
Iâm all for keeping heritage properties as close to original as possible
The house we did in Jersey we found out the heritage people were not to clever
In 2 room it had numerous different skirting boards that people had grafted on to others over the last couple of hundred years. They said we had to keep the original, but couldnât tell us which one it was because they didnât know.
The windows, a couple of dozen sash ones not corded as they were that old had to stay even though that rattled. Tried everything to remove the old paint, eventually made a mix found online of caustic soda, flour and water that you apply and wrap in cling film. We left it on to long and lifted all the grain like shredded wheat, took one guy all summer hand sanding to try and get back all the original detail, I did a couple and it drove me nuts
They were then all fitted with heritage glass and did look fantastic when done, but the conservation people werenât happy as they were shit at keeping heat in, not sure what the final outcome with the windows was in terms of if they could have some type of seal fitted
The house was left to them with stables and around 30 acres of land, but in the will it was stipulated that it couldnât be sold. Luckily the bloke I worked for had a few quid, so could afford to do the work, if not the house would of pretty soon started to collapse as it was that bad
Moral of the tale, some of these heritage people have zero common sense
After Louiseâs hairdresser fiasco last week (the junior stylist she booked to get a quick appointment said she wasnât competent to do short haircuts and sheâd have to wait another 3 weeks to see the boss), she has just told me she is going sown the road to the Albanians in the barber shop!!
Apparently she asked them this morning, and they said they only do menâs style haircuts and not womenâs

At least the cut will only cost about ÂŁ15 and not ÂŁ80
Trying to put a systemdek back together, I took pictures on my old phone and it died, so canât remember the wiring order for the motor
When I had hair I used to get it done by a couple of Albanian blokes on the south bank.
They definitely knew what they were doing - maybe itâs a cultural thing? Iâm completely ignorant regarding Albania other than to hear the language spoken itâs terrifically harsh.
Well she is back - and it looks ok. The top and fringe are a bit short, but the back is great - all for ÂŁ12 !!
They offered hairspray and looked surprised when she said sheâd have gel
Fol#3 is now an authorised Police response driver, 3 weeks of constant criticism, sleepless nights and pushed well out of her speed comfort zone has paid off. Chuffed to little bits I am, had a little run out with her, her awareness, observation and anticipation is unbelievable. She is a far better driver than I have ever been, although thatâs probably not saying much.
Quite a few women get their hair cut at the Kurdish barber I use, ÂŁ10 for a cut.
