Currently at National Concert Band Festival rehearsal with Sam and the SEDMC.
Thought I’d setup the XBOX-X thingy so I bought a Logitech steering wheel with pedals and plugged it all in.
6GB of xbox updates and now waiting on the 120GB game to download and install.
Fuck sake bring back the tape loaded games.
Fuck, thats a blast from the past. Being able to copy games was one of the perks of my Saturday job in Woolco. Amstrad and Alba fake stacking systems did have their uses.
haha I can hear the sound in my head from just watching that
Precisely 4 and half minutes into loading Back to School, and with a minute to go that’s when your mother absolutely has to come in and start vacuuming
A few years ago (5?) we visited Totnes and went into a curious record shop where you could pay to go behind the shop and to two floors above where a local artist had created fabulous room scenes around a story. It was basically an extended art installation called the TimeHouse.
It ran there for a few months then closed but I’d heard that there’d been a new version done which was due to end today so we went across a, to visit Totnes because it’s great & b, to have a look at what was there this time.
The story, again spread over several floors behind & above the record shop was about a traveller called Florence Swift who’d made a journey through various places & scenes eventually landing in the future.
There was a good narrative & plenty of artful video accompanying this in each scene so it was an entertaining hour. I do appreciate the effort involved in curating all of this stuff & presenting it with sound & vision. The Wake the Tiger amazement park we visited in Bristol a few weeks ago was like this but on a much larger scale. Even so, this & the first version 5 years ago were still pretty inspirational given they were created by one individual.
Go to the Forbidden Corner next time you’re in Yorkshire
Funnily enough my Sis has booked a big house for a family gathering next Christmas at Middleham so I hope that place is open sometime in the week we’re up there.
It’s right there, you’ll love it, definitely go!
We went, the kids adored it. We then won their competition that month and got free tickets, so we had to schlep up there again the next year!
Don’t read anything about it before you go.
Enjoying the first day of my last 9 days off before my next annual leave in February.
…a bit sad. Eldest daughter went back to University. It is a bit quiet here now.
Not drinking, one day at a time has turned into
21 years today.
I’m lucky to make 21 days
Good effort!
Congratulations Kevin. You have climbed a real mountain.
Well done Kev.
Wondering how I’ve dropped 2 jeans sizes despite not doing anything to actually achieve that result.
You are supposed to pull them up past your knees now you is old.
