@MGOwner 's music claims another one.

thus far taking Louise to the hospital for an imaging procedure. Whilst she was having her ultrasound, a male patient arrived. The team booked him in and gave him a gown to change into and directed him to a changing cubicle. Unfortunately he didn’t quite follow the instructions and decided to strip off in the waiting room…creating much tittering amongst the other patients.

Then we had the wanker who turned up an hour late, and shouted at the staff. Then the poor elderly lady who turned up a day early, and couldn’t quite understand what the problem was, The team were fantastic, and in fact squeezed her appointment in for todays list.

It’s all go in shabby falling apart NHS hospital - but the staff are just fantastic.

Alas no - can’t blame this one on Ozzy. LU is on a downward spiral at the moment and I was approached by another organization. Money is much better and it means I’ll be back on the gravy train once again :grinning:

The staff were dreadful when my wife had her first scan. Uninterested, rude and not even busy by way of an excuse.

they were very good and the outcome shows the aliens (her word not mine) have grown even bigger, she hopes it gets her bumped up the list for a hysterectomy

…butler at my daughter’s 13th Birthday. We have a dozen 13-year old girls in the house. I am typing this through gritted teeth. In about 10 minutes the headphones are going on and the study door is going to be firmly closed. Any more screaming and giggling and I’m going to fire up the woodchipper and throw myself into it.

This morning I noticed some nasty fan noise coming from my PC. On closer inspection it was clear the fan on my graphics card had spun its last and was well and truly FUBAR.

My choices were to ditch the card and buy another, buy another of the same card second-hand and swap fans or effect some other means of keeping my GPU cool.

At which point I remembered I had a spare case fan - so I screwed this to the heatsink on the graphics card half-thinking it may or may not work and connected it up.

It only worked a treat! (Should I have been so surprised it’s only blowin’ air!)

Not only is my PC now near-silent - I hadn’t realised just how much noise my dying graphics card fan had been making - but using GPU-Z I can see the card is running 10C lower under load than before.

Tech victory. :space_invader:

Dreading tomorrow morning when I have to tell my daughter (8) that her grandma (my M-i-L) died this evening.

Oh dear, that’s sad.

I know from experience how hard your task is going to be. Only consolation is she’s young enough to get over it in time.

Sorry to hear that, kids tend to handle these things better than we think. Good luck

Cheers. I know she’ll be fine in the fullness of time. It’s just reminding me of when my Dad went.

Sincere condolences Gareth to your wife, daughter and yourself.

Sorry to hear that.

Have had to do that myself recently, quite a responsibility but it was ok, the kids seem to be alright. Really sorry to hear of your loss.

Condolences to you and your family Gareth. Don’t envy you having to tell your daughter.

Thanks all. It will be better coming from me tomorrow. Will get some breakfast in her first. We will call her mum shortly after. I have booked her into a climbing lesson at 10am which should hopefully be a welcome distraction.

Tough news Gareth. I’ve had to do this twice now. The kids were very good about it, but it wasn’t easy.
