Festool Kapex 120
Nah. I donāt have Ā£1200+ for a saw. I have maybe Ā£500 ish. Middle of the road stuff will suit me fine.
I hadnāt really thought of that, it does seem much cheaper. Never done it before though.
Bastards,
I have just spent 30 minutes looking at Weira and PB Swiss screwdriver sets that I donāt need.
I have a bag full of tools which I actually used to use on a daily basis and now very rarely use.
Apart from buying a new set of decent quality Allen Keys (for Audio Note reasons) there has not been one occasion in the last ten years when the tools I already have have not been sufficient to do any job required.
I have not ordered any new screwdrivers!
Just realised that it is in Scotlandā¦on the upside it is near the Brew Dog brewery
Yes I did look used, nothing local as usual.
That is because there is nowhere local to you
Wash your mouth out
Oh fuck, Iāve succumbed, havenāt I
You can shut it as well, I bought the Jap whetstones because of you!
Lol!
I dare bet you donāt regret it
Actually I donāt regret the whetstones they brought back some very old knives beautifully.
BUT I then started looking at quality (meaning expensive) Japanese knives and that IS your fault
Oh
Japanese knives are lovely, Iāll own a chefās one some day, meanwhile Iāll have to comfort myself with this pocket knife
Lethal, in the wrong hands
Itās also a 110v site saw, not a 240v one.
YES! I knew I made the perfect suggestion.
Check the weather forecast before you start (once you start itās best not to have to stop, and heavy rain can wash the cement off an un-set surface). Good prep pays (a few timbers firmly in place beforehand to keep everything level). Wet concrete is heavy and moving it tires you out. Your barrow will never be any use for anything else afterwards. Cement stains everything it touches, and takes your skin off. What looks like a huge amount of cement and ballast makes a surprisingly small amount of concrete. 'Part from all that itās easy.
VB
I have a selection of both 110 & 230
The Screwfix rage saws are very good - Thin blades make for very good and quick cuts
Transformer £30, sorted.
I use the Kapex KS60 and have had DeWalt and the bigger Kapex 120. Itās about capacity really but the KS 60 was under Ā£500 new when I bought it and itās a great saw. Dust extraction great with Henry adapter. Really didnāt like the DeWalt, aggressive noisy bugger, KS60 just feels better built and feels safer to use somehow and itās a neat size, i had concerns about the lack of laser guide but I actually prefer the shadow guide on the KS60 now. Also itās bloody accurate, youāll never get Morso standard mitres on it but by no means poor results.
