Chemtrails - The joy of sects, Maureen’s fault.
A few from the £15 or less bin at my local
Surprised to see a Bernie grundman remaster, and a couple of solid reissues for the money. They had a few I’d have bought if I didn’t already own them!
£15 or less bin. What a time to be alive.
I hear ya!
I feel that’s kinda just what LP’s should cost. But this is 2025, when a coffee costs £4 and a loaf of bread costs £5…. £15 doesn’t buy much
Everybody needs A Tribute To Jack Johnson, if only to say to aspiring plank spanking youths, “Look sonny, this is how you play loud guitar.”
Mid 80s avant garde theatre sound track. A time when broken cheap synths often sounded better. These guys also soundtracked the Moomins!
The Cortex and Marcos Valle I’ve been meaning to get for a while but the Webster Lewis - The Complete Live At Club 7 four album box set
Remember buying that PJ Harvey on CD the day it hit store shelves. Great album🤘
Honestly don’t know how I don’t already have it, though that said I’ve been sorting-out my CD collection into a new rack and been surprised to find stuff I know I should have is inexplicably AWOL.
In today -
A compilation double CD tribute album to Martin Bedford (RIP), a legend of the Sheffield music/art scene. All profits to the Sarah Nulty Power of Music Foundation
Thanks to this, I’ve just finished listening through their oeuvre. Love them, a real breath of fresh air. They feel similar to Amyl and the Sniffers to me, who I also like, but AatS I found a bit tiring to listen to at any length, whereas these guys have a bit more variation.
Thanks for the tip.
Cool, glad you like. The songwriting is much stronger than A&tS (they do theselves a disservice not including a lyric sheet), and I agree, less abrasive. A&tS are streaming-only for me - not quite committed enough to buy any hardware.
Summed it up perfectly. I want to get Chemtrails’ albums on CD (alas don’t think you can), but don’t for AatS. The former’s lyrics are great - so many clever little lines.
Yeah, only Joy of Sects is on CD, unfortunately. Mind, it’s the best thing they’ve done, so there’s that.
