What I'm watching (Series 2)

Fantastic film, great cover of new dawn fades in that.

My drunken Christmas Eve film was always Grosse Pointe Blank, great music, violence and comedy

What a film. Can probably write the script out. So many killer one-liners.

Just had me mind blown. Watching Chariots of Fire, the woman who plays Sybil Gordon is Alice Krige, Borg queen in Star Trek. Sexy af.

In Star Trek or COF?

Both tbh. There’s something about her.

That’s alleviated my guilt a bit :joy:

She’s also in the first few minutes of

Worth watching if only for Matthew McConaghey chewing the scenery

I think hope that character is very much written to repulse and attract at the same time. :joy:

“Nuns, no sense of humour!”.

TOTP Christmas Special 1984…BBC 4

Omfg, I can actually remember watching this on Christmas Day, and then the party I went to on Boxing Day, at which I copped off with the girl I would lose my virginity to almost exactly a week later “listening” to Sade - Diamond Life. On tape.

Glorious days

Fuck, I feel old now. :pensive:

Last couple of days spent with friends has seen viewing choices/remotes kept faaaaaar from my control, so we have endured the latest ‘Krampus’ (OMFG what utter, UTTER fucking shite!), ‘Troll’ (merely shite), ‘Riddick’ (predictable Vin Diesel shite), a couple of others that I slept right through, and then, eventually we improved matters greatly with ‘Naked Gun’ and ‘The House That Dripped Blood’ for some proper cheesy xmassy nostalgia.

By far the best of the lots was the bleak but very compelling ‘The Stranger’ - the true story of an Australian undercover police operation to catch a predatory paedophile who had abducted and murdered a boy eight years earlier. Dark subject, but a brilliantly conceived and distinctly different bit of storytelling, such an enjoyable change from the utterly-predictable bilge the US churns out… Recommended :ok_hand:
