An Irish Goodbye*
Lots of laugh out loud here.
Catch it on iPlayer.
* I asked the Irish contingent. They’d never heard the phrase.

That’s a great series. I wish they’d do another.
Started watching Everything Everywhere etc, Was quite enjoying it but Claire has declared it Shite, so now she’s chosen that we’re watching The Little Things, which is a crime thingy, and I generally hate crime thingies, which she absolutely knows, so that’s nice.
Gill lasted about 30 minutes and went to bed. I at least got through it although it was a struggle and I’ve no desire to try again to better appreciate the depth and joy I apparently missed.
Why quit on conniption so soon? Invigorating adrenaline awaits.
Once upon a time in Hollywood… nice cinematography but pretty self indulgent.
Wayne Shorter on BBC4
Terrific.
That is a great film - Williams is brilliant in it.
Yeah, we really ‘enjoyed’ it, Williams is superb, well worth a watch.
I’ve been looking forward to watching this, I love the genre.
It was awful, or at least the first 45 minutes were, I gave up. Abysmal wooden acting, not a single character that engaged me and an agonisingly slow storyline.
They should make everyone involved in this movie watch Bogart and Bacall in The Big Sleep to see how it could have been done.
2/10
Or made to watch the Robert Altman version The Long Goodbye with Elliot Gould.
Brilliant film & performance by Gould
Absolutely - Gould at the very peak of his acting talent.
