How do we stop the working classes rioting? We’ll invent this new idea called democracy, one man one vote. Then we will tell them who to vote for and they will think they have made the decision themselves.
Tough keeping track of all these dragons
S2 House of Dragons
Season 4: Pre nap fuel. - Amusing and extreme enough to wonder if one or more of the writers don’t need to be sectioned.

Initial thoughts: hard to relate to an education secretary who makes intelligent decisions on a timely basis.
Breathtaking - ITV Covid docudrama broadcast in February.
Yes the characters and hospital are just avatars, but the soundbites and policies aren’t.
Yeah I wasn’t really affected and I’m fucking furious. I can’t imagine what it must be like to have lost someone to this incompetence, venality and dogma.
Absolute pants.
Maximum earnestness from the Kiefer.
Bad script.
Terrible music.
Usual Murcanistic stuff.
I’m still watching though.
Agree with Mark. I found that unbearable to watch. Not sure how many episodes I watched. He just seemed like a wimp version of Jack Bauer. The guy has no range as an actor.

A decent effort by the lead actress in a story told more from the family’s perspective. A good watch though & funny in places.
Have to agree it was a worthwhile watch, some damn good acting from the lead, and much less sanitised than I’d expected.
I have aquired an interest in the cheerleaders of some cowboys in Dallas. The gymnastic talent, levels of fitness and commitment on display are an inspiration.
Netflix

There is a series dedicated to the cheerleaders on some channel or another on the internet (so I have heard);
Drama set in some near future UK where prolonged rainfall causes widespread flooding, displacement of the population & dystopian consequences. Ok, and with a strong cast but overall it could have been better.
Children of Men had some similarites but I seem to recall that was a much more engaging film.

Brilliant series
The Bear is back and continuing to be different.
Normally new seasons start with a recap. The Bear takes an un-trodden path… An episode long montage that serves more meat to the previous seasons bone. In doing so not only do you reacquaint but you also get something more, greater depth.
The intensity of this show is real, the issues feel real. With only a handful of words uttered in Ep.1 you’re forced to relate to, imagine, empathize and buy into the heightened headspace of a series that goes places others don’t. If this sounds confusing, it’s because this narrative ‘device’ is risky, it implies people will stick with it - The reward for doing so is a re-connection and a genuine desire for more.
…Cleaver stuff.
