Thoroughly enjoyed Jekyll and Hyde. Also Wuthering Heights. Jackanory for grownups.
Dramatic, surreal, with some genuine laugh-out-loud moments. Really enjoyed that.
Italian and German dialogue if that sort of thing bothers you.
Dinner in America (2020).
Socially awkward girl meets angry punk boy and they go on a spree. The closest equivalent I can think of is Go (1999)
but with a lot more swearing. He in particular is a walking f-bomb.
Inherent Vice.
Not sure how I missed this in 2014? Prompted by a kindly Meat Man who laid out the essentials: 'a fucked up wastrel of a PI bums, bumbles and stumbles through a heap of mad shit interwoven with great cameo’s and a kind of atmospheric theme that is more dude than ‘the dude’.
Some pretty big segments of what the fuck! happen here but its captivating powers are such thinking can wait and or fuck off .
Enjoyed the book. A late Thomas Pynchon. No idea there was a film. Gravity’s Rainbow as a sequel?
Season 2 continues to get weirder.
This is now my favourite show ever, I think. It’s just so exquisitely well done.
Watched the first episode of s2 but I’m going to wait for them all to drop to binge
It is a cracking show and I’m hooked.
Helly R is a naughty sausage.
Yep I think much the same. It’s up there with Twin Peaks etc.
Pretty much!
Hel is increasingly annoyed by me calling her Helly G
Upstairs TV is so much better than downstairs TV.
OTOH the interface on upstairs TV sucks all kinds of balls.
Top Gun Maverick.
Shit Gun Travesty.
You’re doing it Rong. You need to remove your brain when watching it. Then it’s cool AF.
Snap, i just hope they dunt fuck it up by dragging it out for 7 or 8 series and creating an Origin series etc.
It can be enjoyed in so many levels, loving the take on global corporate culture, pure Black Mirror material.
Yes, it is in danger of ending up as Lost: The office version.
I really hope they don’t do that because so far it’s very smart.
