What I'm watching (Series 2)

It was either this or the Danny Dyer film this coming week. Looks like it may be this one.

This is pretty darn decent & off to a great start. Watched the first two eps last w/end. Ep 3 came out last night. Streaming on Apple TV, new eps on Fridays. Decent cast, hard boiled 'n gritty!

It was this or Black bag for us. Ruffalo steals the show.

Reacher.

Still my favourite light entertainment. It’s just what it is, and that’s the right side of ok at most of the things.

White Lotus.

Surprise cameo, and one of the most bizarre and memorable monologues ever. Not sure how Walton kept a straight face. I won’t spoil it, but it was all the funnier as it didn’t leak in advance.

Severance next…

Yep, been away all week!

Finished Get Millie Black. That’s a very good but heavy story delving into the darker parts of people trafficking. Recommended though. Plenty of twists & turns throughout.

I’d been waiting for the slow burning series to hit a high point - It exceeded expectations, I didn’t see it coming.

Severance.

Wow. It delivered. As finales go, that’s just nailed it.

It’s quite something isn’t it!

Trammel Tillman needs some kind of award for that performance.

Not often you get:

Resolution, and song and dance.

Man can throw some shapes!

(Posted that before I read your edit. Like minds! Ironic, given the subject matter).

Latest episode of the White Lotus.

Got to hand it to them bro… they did a good job. :joy:

Great fun Sci-Fi with a satirical edge. I suspect there’ll be an increasing number of films/artwork including some piss-taking of the mango Mussolini & his associates over the coming 4 years.

The series I’m currently enjoying is The Change (C4) about a menopausal married woman who buggers off to live in the Forest of Dean & encounters an interesting community there. Plenty of English folk lore, weirdness, paganism, nice music & humour. Some recent episodes directed by McKenzie Crook I think, but it generally already had some of the rustic vibe he brought to Detectorists. It’s well written by the lead actor Bridget Christie.

Late (very!) to the party #107

Gangs of London x3 episodes into the third season - I’m wondering if I can / want / have the will to continue. Extremes are stretched in every direction. Is it believeable: NO Is it gratuitus: YES Is it fun: NO (actually it’s a rolling nightmare) Is there adrenelin: YES Is there a gripping plot: YES Is it depressing: YES The main issue / flaw lies in casting - Several of the main characters just aren’t right for the role, they are decent actors, just unbuyable. The more extreme the show gets the harder it becomes to suspend that reality. The adrenelin however is addictive.

Finished it. The gratuitous violence thing has lost its novelty.
Agree with all the above. But it’s still watchable.

Kev - it’s Gangs of London. Three series on Sky (edit).

What is it?
