What I'm watching (Series 2)

Dumb but mostly entertaining if you ignore the implausibility and plot holes.

Available on the iPlayer - a must watch.

Currently watching Mobland and really enjoying it - Then there’s Havoc, now this is quite another matter - Shallow / improbable / nonsensical / 0.5D / predictable - To say shit would be an insult to manure.

And then there’s the faux film grain to make it more rough and ready.

It was passable as an action blitz, but completely devoid of sense.

The action blitz was every cliche done twice. Why use good actors? It was almost as if the film was designed to troll them

Quite good.

The Residence:
Mrs MWS’s weapon of choice for the last week - Braced for conniption, I was robbed of the oportunity. There’s hints of every who dun it in this show but it hangs together, carried in no small part by humor and great cast. IMDB give it 7.8 probably a 7.3

That Bob Dylan films a bit good, nicely paced and shot.,

Also Joan Baez’s pad is :ok_hand:

I was hearing today that Timothy Chalamet is doing a set as Bob on the acoustic stage at Glastonbury this year.

It will be delicious if he breaks into Like a Rolling Stone or Maggie’s Farm at some point

123… Judaaas!

I want my local cinema to stay open. But it does show a lot of shooting/running/screaming movies. And kids’ stuff of course.

Next week it (still) has

and last Sunday’s paper said it’s a cut above average. I’m thinking of going.

I’ve never watched any of the Marvel flicks. Not one. So

i) Will any of this one make sense ?

ii) If not then which* of them should I watch beforehand to get me at least some way up the learning curve ?

iii) Or should I just spend half an hour with this ?

*Short for ā€˜which one or, at most, two’ - I don’t have a whole lot of time.

It got absolutely panned?

You don’t need any history. The Easter eggs and references are mainly for the geeks.

Is that a question Steve ?

As I say, I’ve seen not one of them. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if folks who’ve seen every single one hated this one because of inconsistencies with previous, or characters seeming to take the piss, or there not being enough explosions, or whatever. I’m probably going to judge the whole franchise on the basis of just this one (maybe just this half if it’s really unbearable). I just want to know if it would be like walking cold into LOTR 3 i.e. probably better to watch 1 and 2 first.

I’ve just seen the spread of reviews. I saw one at 40% and it was unequivocal in its damnation.

There does seem to be a lot more favourable.

My opinion: I really enjoy the series as a whole. Well cast, paced, and often funny. When they miss, they tend to miss hard as poor action/comedy is hard to recover.

I don’t think you need to see any film at all as this is NOT the Avengers, and mainly new faces. In summary, lots of bad people tried bad things and usually the good lot won. Some died in the process.

Sure it stands alone.

There was something I saw about it now having a different title because it’s basically a New Avengers origin story.

Not that that means anything to me as I don’t think I’ve seen any New Avengers films.

Go & see Sinners instead

That’s why it has a * next to the title.
