The Diplomat S3, still liking this.
Task… just gets better with each episode.

Alien Earth. Watched the first episode and thought it was a bit meh. Really lacking atmosphere. Not totally crap, but debating whether to persevere or abandon it.
Just finished season 2 of The Sandman, and thought it was absolutely superb. And it actually tied up really nicely.
I ran out of steam with Alien Earth after 3 or 4 episodes. There wasn’t enough to keep me interested.
Yeah it’s not often that I’ll bail on a big-budget sci-fi thing, but I think I’m going to save myself the time. I’m so saturated with recent quality from Sandman and Severance, I can’t be arsed.
I thought this was fantastic. Part satire, part action, part political commentary and some dark comedy. ![]()
Fancy this one
This is probably the best film I’ve seen all year. Exceptional.
Stay with it, it does get better, there is a twist in the plot.
Just watched it at the Imax in MK and really enjoyed it, suspect the huge screen played a big part
I enjoyed. But it was absolute twaddle.
But this is from someone who tried to read Mason & Dixon and could not compute. So anything Pynchonesque is likely to just leave me ![]()

Farcical, improbable, thrilling, provocative, poignant, twisted, atmospheric, kinky, well acted twaddle.
The more reality swerves to farcical & improbable, the less the viewer has to suspend disbelief - Which is an unexpected upside in terms of pre nap film viewing.
Are you saying movies aren’t real?

Sure, about sums it up, I didn’t mean in it in a particularly critical way. I just thought a lot of it was a bit surreal/weird.
Premium twaddle is a solid review
Not watched this yet but the book is lovely.
Hel insisted the other night. Bit twee for me but definitely watchable.
I think I’ll give it a go as I love the book so much.
The Iris Affair (Sky).
Hit and miss, but weird enough to want to watch. Tom Hollander is always worth it. He’s worth it in this
I kind of enjoyed it. Entertaining pap.
We’re enjoying House of Guinness. It’s very much in the style of Peaky Blinders but set in Dublin in 1868. I get that Irish viewers aren’t that taken by the portrayal of the Fenians as green clad leprechauns or some of the accents but for us (not being Irish) it’s great television. Interesting history, good dialogue, strong characters, it looks beautiful & has an entertaining soundtrack including contributions from the likes of Kneecap. We’re about half way through & hope the rest is as good as what we’ve seen so far.
