Why shouldn't I buy an old S Class?

If you want rear leg room get a full size people carrier, take out the middle row of seats and use the 2 rear seats. It’s not flash but you aren’t going to beat it unless you go for one of those converted sprinters.

If you want an s-class, buy an s-class, just expect any money you save on buying a cheap, old one to be spent keeping it running. Go in with your eyes open, enough lube and the preternatural ability to hand it on to someone else if something really spendy contemplates breaking and you’ll only be ruinously fucked, not ploughed until your bones are dust.

The probable answer is not to get a clapped out old car that was once nice. There is a reason that a once £100k car is selling for not a lot.

There are no cool, affordable cars that have huge legroom. Get summat else and some therapy.

The decision to buy a S Class has already been made.

What about this

I don’t know why you are fannying around, just buy one. Great car. Great value. You should be fine. Just find a good back street garage if anything goes wrong. You can always use second hand parts if needs be.

…and then a service bill in 12 months time of £10k :scream:

Car Dealer:So, Sir, the Maybach is a bespoke build, what colour leather would Sir care to specify?”.

Drug Dealer: [Holds 4th wife’s black-eye over colour-scanner] “This”.

Wow, that’s remarkable. :+1: Thanks

Why would a service cost £10k?

That looks very nice, better car than the later model also.

That’s bonkers value for money.

It’s a nice car and low mileage. You should get 20-25 mpg, which is decent. Japanese spec though, so speak to Phil about parts availability.

We were buying a used Yaris on Saturday but couldn’t help looking at this beast lurking nearby.
