Think that’s (or used to be) part of JMSC on portsdown hill.

I designed some of the stuff in there for NMIC (national maritime intelligence centre) who look after UK waters and had a very interesting tour of the place I can’t tell you about

Think I might have described some of those “minority report” screens in the article’s photo at Lopwell

Russian jets ‘dangerously’ intercept RAF spy plane over Black Sea - BBC News Russian jets 'dangerously' intercept RAF spy plane over Black Sea - BBC News

Russian drone hits Romanian apartment building, injuring two people. (For clarity - Romania is an EU country and a member of NATO.)

Romanian President Nicusor Dan reported the drone to be a Russian Geran-2, carrying about 30kg of explosives.

I noticed he was very careful to say it was a rogue drone that was knocked off course and doesn’t consider it to be an attack.

Politician being sensible and level headed :face_with_spiral_eyes:

How many years have passed since Trump promised to end the war?

Trump is a credibility-free moron. Only drooling imbeciles take anything he says seriously.

No idea if we ‘like’ the BBC these days, but the article on Iran’s damage to the US massively contradicts what Trump is saying, and what most US news networks are telling Americans.

CNN ran this story weeks ago.

:man_shrugging:
So the Beeb weren’t wrong, then.

US advisors war gamed the closing of the Straights of Hormuz.
Trump for some reason ignored all the advice.
presumably Bibi told him that Iran would capitulate within a week

Sanctions being enforced then

before the opening of a major economic forum designed to attract foreign investment into the country.

Thousands of guests from 130 countries are due to attend, including a low-key US delegation.

So Iran know that Trump is locked into a ceasefire as Congress will not approve more fighting/bombing. Netanyahu is going to start having tantrums when Trump doesn’t back him up

This is going to turn into his Vietnam (not that Private Bonespurs saw any action in Vietnam)

From the Mehr News Agency (Mehr is a semi-official news agency sponsored by the government of Iran - this is the Mehr interpretation of conflict cessation discussions):

  1. Permanent and immediate cessation of war on all fronts, including Lebanon

  2. America’s commitment to non-interference in Iran’s internal affairs and respect for the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

  3. Complete removal of the sea blockade within 30 days

  4. America’s commitment to withdraw its forces from Iran

  5. Reopening the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days with Iranian arrangements

  6. Suspension of sanctions on the sale of oil, petrochemical products and derivatives and Iran’s full access to its financial resources.

  7. The need to support Iran’s reconstruction plans in the amount of at least 300 billion dollars by the United States and its allies

  8. 60 days of negotiations to reach a final agreement based on nuclear issues and the complete cancellation of primary and secondary US sanctions and resolutions of the UN Security Council and the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency

  9. Repeating Iran’s commitment in the NPT agreement not to produce nuclear weapons

  10. During the negotiations, the United States committed not to add to its forces in the region and will not impose new sanctions.

  11. Release of 24 billion dollars of Iran’s blocked money during the 60-day period of final negotiations. Half of this amount should be available to Iran before the start of negotiations.

  12. Forming a monitoring mechanism to implement the agreement.

  13. The final agreement is approved by the UN Security Council resolution.

  14. The final negotiation will not begin before the release of half of Iran’s blocked money, the suspension of Iran’s oil sanctions and the lifting of the maritime blockade, and the final agreement will be made only on the issue of the fate of enriched materials and enrichment, the lifting of sanctions, and the plan to rebuild Iran’s economy and the discussion about Iran’s missile program and support for resistance groups has definitely been removed from the agenda.

Kudos to Emmanuel Macron.

When Trump signed his $300bn deal for Iran, he did so at the Palace of Versailles.

Did Trump not see the parallel to a similar signing that took place in 1919 ?

Going well so far, Israel working hard to fuck things up

He was probably too busy struggling not to be gratuitously rude about Mme Macron (I do hope the chefs let her piss in his soup).

Still, all that gold and mirrors must have made him feel at home.
